The Dayton Sting Baseball Club “Powered by Wilson/DeMarini” achieved a milestone with its 100th tournament victory on May 8, 2016, at the Nations May Qualifier Presented by Sports Experience. The 8U Black Team, coached by John Tishaus provided the milestone victory for the organization.
Club President, Tim Dunaway expressed, “The 100 win mark wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of the players and families from the past 11 seasons. The organization is grateful for their commitment to the program.”
Formed in 2006, the Dayton Sting Baseball Club has earned 106 tournament victories and 103 tournament runner-up finishes along with 16 Midwest Ohio League titles.
Boston Red Sox 3B Travis Shaw gives the Dayton Sting a shout out from the locker room today prior to their home opener at Fenway Park.
Several members of the Dayton Sting 12U Black have attended Travis' hitting camp the past two years in his hometown of Washington Court House, Ohio. The "Sting Boys" as they are affectionately known at his camp are famous for the brushed "S" caps and strong fundamentals.
However, one member of the 12U Black believes that Travis may be a bit "over rated" in starting in front of Pablo Sandoval this season. No hard feelings according to Travis. He will see YOU at camp next winter! Go Sting!
